I don't remember how old I was when the Original T.V. Series "V" was on. (9 or so?) But I am seriously excited about the fact that ABC is giving the program a reboot. I like the fact that they plan to stay true to the orignial seires themes and to some degree the plot, but then take it in different directions once they have established the storylines. I do wonder if Jennifer Cooke still has it. Heck she is only about 5 years older then Elizabeth Mitchell.

The Thermals are a great band that has been around since the early part of the 2000's, but with their 4th studio album "Now that we can see", the band seems to be getting the attention they deserve. The title track "Now that we can see" is about as good as a rock song can be. You can download the song for free thanks to Artistdirect.com. But beware as it will be stuck in your head right away.
Online fun, or fun online....
Okay, so it has been a long time, but if there was ever a time to make a come back. It would be today. The first little nugget I present is the Name Anagram site. Just type in your name and it gives you a new one based on the same letters that are in your name. I added my middle initial as that is how I sign my name. Jerome A. Butler became Majeer Trouble. Sweet, and thank you Name Anagram Site.
Second cool thing on the list is for all you people who like to play with dolls, or like the show True Blood on HBO. Pretty much the same audience don't you think? Well who doesn't like paper vamps. I know my wife will dig paper Eric, and there is no way I will not be printing up multiple Paper Sookies.

What a week.
If ever there was a week in which I would say it was sweet to be me, it would be this week. After spending the weekend with my father and family celebrating my son Beau's 2nd Birthday I finished up my television show "Sports Stars of Tomorrow" for the year. Always a good feeling as it lifts a big weight off. I have much to prepare for, next season and trips and such but the week to week grind is halted for a spell.
But the news gets even better....if you are me. Last night I was invited to go to a Dallas Mavericks game with 2 of my bosses and their neighbor. Choice seats and a great game. Plus I got to wear my "Dirk" shirt. I know the chicks were digging the shirt but it's fun to get the looks and smiles anyway.
Then just this morning I get word that I am invited to go to the freaking Final 4!!! Seriously. My good friend Ward is a life long Georgetown fan. His father is a faculty member and was able to score tickets. It was going to be a family thing but when Ward's brother backed out I got the nod so ATL, here we come. Oh and "We Are.....Georgetown!!!"

Free Song of the week!
I am beginning to think that you either like the Ying Yang Twins or you don't. That's because there songs all have a similar feel to them. I like the sound and thus I present this classy little jewel "what's happnin!" Notice the explicit tag. Not a song to play around the kids, but if you want to impress the college chick in the accord next to you. Bang this out!

Old comic New to the big screen?
Are you ready for the Green Hornet to hit the big screen? I think I would actually prefer to see the Green Lantern get his own Flick...but it seems his ringness will have a role in the new Justice League Film.

301?
Okay so I just don't know what to think. I have read many conflicting reports on whether or not '300' will have a sequel. The latest reports are that Frank Miller is thinking yes, well sort of. It may not have the same characters but another greek mythological type film seems possible. I guess the more money it makes the more likely it will be.
As for my opinion of 300; I though it was amazing to look at. I feel like it could have spend a bit more time on character development as well as plot development. But a two hour film just blew by and held my attention the hole time. I think it could have added 30 minutes and moved into epic status. Maybe with the money in the bank the next one will do that.

Free Fall out Boy Song!
Okay so I wasn't looking for a song, but I found one anyway. Thanks to Download.com, a good source for computer apps I found that they had the Fall Out Boy song Dead on Arrival free on their site to download. I would imagine that they have more mp3's just haven't checked the site for that before.
Just quicky...with Val Kilmer

Another free one from BNL!
Emusic is giving away an exclusive track by Barenaked Ladies. But the free song is what you might expect. Okay maybe it is. The song was written about the person who downloaded the 100 millionth song from the popular online music store. Well it is free. Not going to be one that stays in my rotation but hey it's free.

If you have itunes you need this. Seriously!
Thanks to my new subscription to Esquire Magazine, I was tipped off to this amazing plug in for Itunes. The iconcertcal is a calender that lets you know what concerts are coming to town based on your files. It really works well. I hope this helps me get out to more shows.

New Golden Age for TV?
I just found an interesting article that expresses some thoughts about the state of telelvision. Nothing ground breaking but interesting none the less.
It's the new style....
I am just not sure if I like the New TCU baseball uniforms or not. The Texas flag on the sleave is the same patch as the Texas Rangers. I kinda like it but the purple that looks as if it is being poured over the shoulders of the player, well it is going to take some getting used to.
You can check out some other views of the uniform thanks to a great TCU fan.
The all come from the a game against Vermont... by the way TCU swept the series with the Vermont Catamounts.
Battle Star Galactica throws a curve.
So if you didn't get to see this weeks episode of BSG you might want to try and catch it as the show re-airs a few times on the Sci-Fi Channel. This episode leaves us with lots of questions. It doesn't seem to further the underlying plot as much as create a new one. I will not give away this plot twist, but you really should see this episode before watching any new ones.
While I have lots of theories as to where this all leads, I am actually far more interested in alternative theories as mine tend to fall in line with the masses. There is at least one guy thinking out side the box, Brad you might want to check out this guys Blog for some interesting thoughts on the show.
In additon to watching BSG this weekend I did some surfing and found that Sub Pop has loaded their website with free music downloads from a number of artists.
Included in that is 3 by a group that was huge for me as I grew up in the Northwest. Mudhoney.
Here is one of the Cuts: The Straight Life - Mudhoney

Big "D" headed towards basketball nirvana?
I case you haven't noticed the Dallas Mavericks are tearing up the league. Now is the time to get on board. Don't wait for the play-offs get behind this team now or you may miss out on all the fun leading up to it. I hope that we get another round of play-off tunes as well. Last Year Lazer should have won the best song contest for M-F-F-L, but at least they are part of the scene now.
Lat year I missed out on the Dirk Shirt. It went away for a while but it is back now and I will own one of these. So should you!
If you have any good mavs links post them in the comment section.
Heroes, my new number one!
Okay, like many have said before me: Heroes is the best show on TV. Sorry Lost, Heroes has it going on. Last weeks episode proved it for me. Still can't believe that this is a monday night program. I wonder how long that will last. Anyway if you are not up to date on the show you are in luck as the season so far has been posted online.
Also you can check out the episodes with commentary thanks to NBC
Free Music thanks to Zune and Artist Direct
Stumbled on this the other day. I have not been able to check out all of the songs but there is quite few to choose from. Barenaked Ladies, Moby, Lily Allen, The Shins, all ripe for the picking. Click here, for the list and download links. Boy I love free legal music! But hury as there is no telling how long this will be up on the web.

Great Buddy Holly Song up on 33/45
If you are a fan of old time rock'n roll and need a new edition to your mp3 player check out 33/45. Dave Renard has a collection of great songs for download. I would recomend the Buddy Holly "Classic Your So Square". But there are some other great tunes to check out as well.
Norelco, separating us from the apes...with the help of this guy!
Normally I don't work this blue....But when your dad sends you the link, it makes seem okay, right? Well see for yourself how the New Philips Ad can help you. Very interactive. By the way doesn't the dude look like Matthew Broderick? Ferris Bueller never freaked me out that much though.

Jimmy Fallon back on Latenight?
Sounds like it won't be long till Jimmy Fallon is back on latenight....The Story
Also are you a fan of the celebrity prank phone call? Well the latest one I found is a personal greating from FABIO. These are a bit tense but seriously funny. Check out the list of other celebs and make sure to let me know any new ones that you find so that I can add them to the list... By the way Dwight Schrute and Samuel L. Jackson no longer are live site, at least that I can find. To bad as Dwight's was really funny.
On that note don't forget to check out Rainn Wilson on SNL this weekend. I actually have hope that he can pull the show out of the ditch it has been in since the amazing Justin Timberlake Episode. If so do you think his bobble head sales will pick back up?
Grey's Anatomy should be sent home
In related news, Grey's could loose one of the only other strong characters in the show Addison Sheppard. She would not go very far though... Read more here.
As for the song of the day, I am a big fan of Tegan and Sara. Their polished anthem Walking with a Ghost was featured on medium but makes as much since for this post on many different levels. Right click on the link and "save link as" to download the file.

Lost in American Idol Heroes...
There are lots of shows that I try to catch each week. I plan on sharing my thoughts on many of them from time to time. Lost certainly deserves some attention and will get some as I get a bit more organized. American Idol is blogged more than any other show and will have me expounding on its contestants, but not for a few weeks as I am still not sure what to think of any of them. Heroes however deserves lots of attention, now. I am really suprised how well this show is working. It took a very similar approach to Lost; create very indepth characters and then reveal a little bit about them at a time. At times they lead you astray as to who they really are with clever plot lines, which is where some of the magic occurs. Heroes unlike Lost tends to push the plot much faster and thus I create the buzz that Lost had when it was in its first season.
Last week comic book great Stan Lee made a cameo. The week before it was a hero from Star Trek. While it may be cool to give props to those guys I think it actually takes away from the stars that are being created in front of us. This plus overdoing the gore of Silar's killings are my only complaints about a show that certainly deserves all the praise that it is getting.
Also for those of you with out Tivo, you migh have gotten hooked on the song from the Ford Edge commerical. Good news you can get DEE's hit for free, thanks to the Ford Folks.
Click on Music download to get the song!

Are you on board with BSG yet?
So it would seem that many people are not yet on board with the now BSG - Battle Star Galactica. I certainly would recomend it. The best part is that there are already 3 great seasons to watch. Well 2 and a half. This is a really great show. If you like Sci-fi you will like it from the start if not it might take you few episodes to understand the characters.
Unlike the Lost and Hero's, this show is not a serial in that it doesn't leave you on the edge of a cliff on every episode. I enjoy serials/cliffhangers, but it is nice to end the weekend with a nice package all wrapped up with a bow on top.
Oh and thanks to TV-Links.co.uk you can catch up easy. I would however recomend watching it on DVD as it is a very well shot program. But not everyone has a brother who sends them the seasons on DVD like I do!!!
It's coming...
It's about time to kick things off. I will be spending a week or two getting things together in order to start on the right foot, but check back and you will soon be exposed to the wonderful world of the TV Frog.
